It was in 2005 when Bessie Besana started his career in the industry. He simply enlisted a friend in Binibining Pilipinas. Luckily for her—and Bessie, himself—she made it to the semi-finals. Since then, Bessie has unleashed an extraordinary eye for beauty that has greatly been the asset of his contestant recruitment process. In 2008, he joined a passionate group of individuals in the pageant scene. Some of the women he has mentored include the 4-peat Miss Universe runners-up namely Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup, Janine Tugonon, Ariella Arida, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza and no less than the country’s first ever Miss World, Megan Young. In 2017, Bessie was appointed as CEO of Miss World Philippines.
As Bessie made a name for himself in the pageant circuit, he remained strongly involved in the local fashion industry as a model mentor, fashion show director and stylist. He has done numerous shows in collaboration with designer friends—one thing that consistently evolved his love for fashion. In 2015, Bessie finally decided to take his love for the craft further by enlisting in a fashion school and pursuing his dreams of becoming a fashion designer. He has then dressed up beauty queens and celebrities including Erich Gonzales, Marian Rivera and Jodi Sta. Maria to name a few. His talent continues to shine through not only in the local scene but through some international platforms including fashion show in Vienna, Austria in 2016 and Stockholm, Sweden in 2017.
Sleek, modern yet dreamy and feminine are the words to describe his vision for the Bessie Besana woman.
